EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
Our unique curriculum takes a holistic approach where each child is supported to develop socially, emotionally, physically and academically through the use of 10 exciting key themes.
These 10 key themes are delivered through intentional, play based pedagogy that aligns to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Our program will encourage your child to proactively participate in their own learning journey as they navigate each new milestone, from the foundational early years of learning right through to Primary School.
By providing a holistic context for learning and development, your child will organise and make sense of their social world and surroundings while engaging actively with people, objects and representations.

OUR 10 KEY THEMES ARE:
Stem is an integrated approach to teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics by exploring the real world.
Children learn STEM through play, for example, gardening, building structures, creating patterns, drawing designs, water and sand play.
STEM practices encourage children to ask questions, make predictions, experiment, explore, manipulate, problem find & solve, generate ideas, use tools to produce artefacts and develop teamwork skills.
A vital part of a child’s overall development is their literacy development.
Literacy provides the foundation for doing well at school, socialising with others, developing independence and working.
Our program starts with the fundamental building blocks for literacy which include: the ability to speak, listen, understand, watch and draw.
Through our early literacy program, children will also learn about the connection between letters on a page, phonemic awareness and develop early reading and writing skills.
Our programs develop supportive and culturally safe environments.
Children will learn that each person is unique and valuable and that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity.
Our program explores the different cultural backgrounds within the service through activities such as singing songs in different languages, dancing to music from various countries, learning words in other languages, cooking foods from around the world, exploring traditional dress and celebrating various multicultural days including Harmony Day, Chinese New Year, Diwali and more.
Our program promotes positive awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Under Reconciliation Australia’s Narragunnawali program we foster a high level of knowledge, respect and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions.
Our program introduces meaningful reconciliation initiatives in the service and with the community. Children celebrate and participate in many community events such as NAIDOC Week. Our service’s Reconciliation Action Plan incorporates objectives and strategies to support all children to have a better understanding and connection with Aboriginal Australia.
Children are provided with opportunities to engage with nature as this supports stewardship. We promote the use of natural materials in the curriculum to help children learn to appreciate natural beauty.
Our programs encourage an awareness of environmental responsibilities and we implements practices that contribute to a sustainable future. We engage children in innovative experiences in order to appreciate the wonder of the natural world while protecting the planet for future generations through activities such as recycling, composting, creating fairy gardens, veggie patches, sensory herb gardens and flower gardens.
Creative play develops confidence, language, physical and thinking skills, imagination and emotional understanding. Children are given time, materials and space to be creative.
Our program engages children in Drama, Music, Dance and Arts & Crafts. Dramatic play helps children make sense of their world. Sound-play and music helps express feelings and ideas. Dance helps children develop their physical and concentration skills and helps them express their feelings. Arts & Craft activities encourage self-expression and decision-making as children experiment with texture, space and colours in pieces of art.
Supporting the healthy development of children is embedded within our fun, play based program.
Our program encourages children’s healthy eating and physical activity through relevant learning experiences, resources and interactions as recommended by the Munch & Move program.
Our program engages children in simple and fun ways to promote health and wellness, for example, Yoga Club, Mini Chefs Kitchen, Vegetable & Herb Gardens and Exercise & Fundamental Movement Skills. Children are also exposed to a variety of healthy foods, which include a variety of flavours, colours and textures.
Building strong community links within our program takes many forms. We provide essential opportunities available in the community for children to participate as they venture off into the community on nature walks, visit local shops, library and parks.
Our program involves participation in local initiatives and campaigns e.g. clean-up Australia day and National Tree Day. We also participate in fundraising events and local fun days such as Australia Day. We bring the community into our service by inviting a variety of community workers to the service to teach the children about their roles and responsibilities e.g. Fire Brigade, Police and local dentist.
Our Prep-School program is designed to equip children aged four to six with the vital skills needed for school and lifelong learning.
Based on the five outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework, our program provides an enriching environment that supports continuity of learning and positive transitions for each child into Primary School.
Each child’s emotional wellbeing and social competence is supported as well as developing early reading, writing and math skills. Through the integration of the NSW Primary School Key Learning Areas, the fundamental concepts of Early Stage 1 are introduced to your child.
